Mary has worked with children and families in the areas of behavior and mental health since 1977. She began as a special education teacher and then as a behavior analyst for Anoka Hennepin School District. On a five year leave from Anoka Hennepin, Mary became the first state consultant in Autism Spectrum Disorders establishing criteria for Autism and starting the state networks for specialists. In Anoka Hennepin, Mary helped established assessment and programming for children with ASD. Her final chapter with the school district was doing Parent Child Interaction Therapy and research with children with callous-unemotional traits. She now joins Lighthouse Child and Family Service to provide to Parent Child Interaction Therapy as she transitions to part time work.
