Kim is an eclectic, genuine, and client-centered counselor; she will adapt to each client’s needs, meet them where they are, and use various counseling techniques that are tailored to each person. She finds that authenticity helps people feel comfortable working with her. Kim concentrates on a holistic approach and integrative mindset which allows clients to explore self-limiting beliefs, realize inner wisdom, and transform emotional pain into meaningful and long-lasting change.
Kim utilizes a strengths-based approach, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused methods with a heavy emphasis on Positive Psychodynamic Therapy. She is passionate about nurturing others’ ability to grow through their trauma and become their best selves.
Kim has a Masters in Adlerian Psychology with a focus in Co-Occurring Disorders from Alder Graduate School, a Masters in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Saint Cloud State University. Kim is trained in EMDR, a powerful tool in the treatment of trauma. Currently, Kim is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug counselor who is working towards her supervision hours to complete her LPCC requirements.
