Professional Experience: Throughout my career I have provided therapeutic services to children, adolescents and young adults within many different environments including in-home and community-based. I have also worked in providing therapeutic services alongside horses and I am passionate about incorporating nature and whole body wellness into my practice. Additionally, I have provided educational opportunities around the impact of trauma, resiliency, and trauma-informed practices in community and interdisciplinary settings. During graduate school, I supported research and outreach focused on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and resiliency in rural Appalachia which allowed for me to be a part of a trauma-informed community initiative.
Special Interests: I have clinical experience working with the impacts of depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and life transitions. I utilize a strength’s based, person-centered and trauma informed approach. Additionally I pull from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). I am interested in pursuing further training in Internal Family Systems (INF), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as I work towards obtaining my full clinical licensure.
A Fun Fact About Me: I have spent time living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, North Carolina and Kentucky. Being outside is my happy place, I love trying new activities and crocheting is one of my favorite ways to stay busy while watching one of my favorite shows.
